Coastguard Rescue Teams respond to Storm Babet

Coastguard Rescue Teams from across the country remain deployed as part of the multi-agency response to the severe flooding as a result of Storm Babet.

There’s currently over 100 specially trained Coastguard Flood Technicians either on standby, en route to flood hit areas or already deployed and assisting in the rescue and evacuation operations.

Coastguard Rescue Teams have already been working with local authorities, Scottish Fire & Rescue and Police Scotland to evacuate people from their homes. They have been supported by coastguards working in operations rooms and also HM Coastguard helicopter crews.

Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those who have tragically been lost during this severe weather. Our thoughts are also very much with the brave Coastguard Rescue Officers and other emergency responders who are working through incredibly difficult and challenging circumstances.

Help us help them – donate today.

The Coastguard Association is the charity dedicated to supporting Coastguard personnel and their families in their time of need.
